Rose Bay - Sydney

Rose Bay has lots to offer the Sydney tourist and is located close to major tourist and shopping attractions.
Sport is well catered for. There are three golf courses nearby; The Royal Sydney Golf Club is the most famous and there are two public courses in the neighbouring suburbs of Woollahra and Bondi.
Anyone for tennis? Rose Bay has public synthetic tennis courts, or if you are lucky enough to get invited you might be able to play on grass at historic White City. White City was from 1922 until recently the home of Australian tennis and has contributed greatly to Australia's stature as a sporting nation. White City has been included on the Register of the National Estate for it's significance to sport and social values.
We can't forget water sports. Rose Bay itself offers sailing, canoeing, jet skiing and just about any water sport you can image all from a sheltered bay. Only a short walk from Rose Bay (25 minutes) is Bondi Beach, the most famous beach in the world.
Rose Bay is home to the departure bases of Sydney's seaplanes which offer a very different way of seeing Sydney. You can arrange sightseeing trips, picnics at a secluded beach or fly off to one Sydney's famous restaurants like Jonah's at Whale Beach for that special lunch.
Shopping in Rose Bay is sophisticated and relaxed. The local shopping area offers a range of shops from basic necessities to boutiques and home ware stores with a village atmosphere.
In the neighbouring suburb of Double Bay you will find the smartest shops in Sydney. Designer label shops, boutiques, cafes, bookshops and galleries all in a sophisticated European setting.
Queen Street and West Woollahra are the centre of the Sydney antique trade. The antique shops, galleries, cafes and decorator shops are a mecca for the sophisticated Australian decorator and the area offers an interesting mix of 19th and early 20th century architectural styles.
For the trendy shopper you can't go past Oxford Street and nearby Paddington streets with fashion, arts and crafts, music and books. This area also features some of Sydney's newest and trendiest restaurants and cafes.
