Default Brisbane Attractions

Australian Woolshed
This unique Australian experience offers a look at real outback life and is located 15km Northwest of the city. There are many displays and shows on working dogs, whip cracking, sheep shearing, milking and of course koala cuddling. Other entertainment includes waterslides, operational on weekends and mini golf. 148 Samford Road, Ferny Hills (07 3872 1100). Bus or train from city to Ferny Hills.
Bike RidingBrisbane is a cycle friendly city offering over 400km of shared bicycle paths around the city. A very good scenic bike route of 9 kilometres spans from the Story Bridge through the gardens and along the river, a great way to view the city. There are several bike hire companies to assist if you haven't your own bike to use.
Castlemaine Perkins Brewery
XXXX is brewed in the centre of Brisbane and possible to tour. Milton Road, Brisbane. (07 3361 7597).
Cliffs Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is very popular in Brisbane and these rocks on the Southern banks of the Brisbane River are ideal. Located at Kangaroo Point, the pink, volcanic cliffs date back 200 million years. Ghost ToursThese spooky ghost tours presented by Jack Sims, take in some of Brisbane's historical haunted sights, and are combined with some gruesome storytelling.Tours include Boggo Road Goal, cemeteries and the cities most infamous crime scenes.

Hands on Art
Located at the Southern end of Southbank Parklands boardwalk, this unique, interactive art display, offers children and their families the chance to create a variety of art forms. The Boardwalk, Southbank (07 3844 4589).

Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium
Enjoy star gazing at this planetarium, which includes the Cosmic Skydome, Display Zone, Mini Theatre and Observatory. There is a forty minute astronomical show in the Skydome, featuring an amazing digital star show of Brisbane's night sky. Brisbane Botanical Gardens, Mount Coot-tha (07 3403 2578).
Story Bridge Adventure ClimbBrisbane's iconic centre piece is available to climb. The Story Bridge was built in 1940 and dominates Brisbane's skyline. You can climb to the viewing platform which is 44metres above the roadway. The end result is glorious views of the city, bays and islands. Story Bridge Adventure Climbs (07 3514 6900).
Streets Beach
A beach in the midst of a warm city, makes an ideal cool down spot for locals and tourists. This is Australia's only inner city, man made beach and can be found in the popular Southbank precinct. Streets Beach offers clear water and white sands and there is even a lifeguard on duty. Southbank Parklands, Southbank.
Walking Tours
These walking tours are organised by the Brisbane City Council and are a great way to see the city, learn more about the city and stay fit. There are about 70 organised walks, ranging from easy to more adventurous and are up to about an hour in duration.They take in the city, the bushland's, the river and heritage sites.
